My name is Gordon Robson. The CPE Strauss tag came about by accident. When I first started to do this I needed a name for a YouTube account to put on my first couple of pieces. I didn't want to use my own name for that and also was not planning on this turning into a major exercise. I chose Strauss for obvious reasons and CPE because I was disappointed that there wasn't a CPE Strauss. The Bach family had one, after all. 200 pieces later and I'm stuck with it, for two reasons. Firstly, because lots of people are familiar with the name. Secondly, there is another Gordon Robson who is a musician who has done some arranging, including some Viennese works. Small world.

I am, or rather was, an IT professional working for, among others, Sperry, Apricot, Apollo and Hewlett Packard. I am not a musician, musicologist, writer or graphic designer. It is somewhat ironic that the least professional thing about this site is its implementation. I'd have shot any developer working for me who designed, implemented and tested (and I use the term loosely) a system in such a cavalier fashion as I did this one. Fortunately, nobody is paying me for this!
