My orchestration of this waltz by Johann Schrammel. It is a really good waltz. It’s a great pity that he wrote for such a strange combination of instruments as he is really a first rate composer in this style. He writes good tunes and interesting harmonies and, to my mind at least, is perhaps the most Viennese of composers in this style.

I hope I am not doing him a disservice by arranging his music for a fairly large orchestra. There’s not much of his own orchestration to provide a pattern to follow. I think it works surprisingly well for a piece that was conceived for a chamber ensemble.
