My transcription from a manuscript score kindly provided by the Johann Strauss Society of Great Britain. This recording has previously appeared on its website. It’s a very early waltz, in fact his first one to be published, and he hasn’t quite got into his established style. It has one or two moments where he might have done better, but overall it’s a good waltz. I prefer this to many of his later waltzes which I think can be a bit formulaic.
