CPE Strauss
Die Nachahmer, Walzer, Op. 86

00:00 / 10:16
My most sincere apologies. I found myself with an unexpected bit of time and having spent quite a lot of effort over the past few years orchestrating second rate imitations of Strauss and Lanner waltzes, I decided to write one of my own.
I was aiming for about 1840. I haven’t consciously borrowed tunes from the masters, but I almost certainly have. (And in fact I have had to hastily replace waltz 5B as I worked out where I’d stolen it from. I was annoyed at thinking it was original but was impressed that I had managed to reproduce it almost note for note! It was the best tune in the piece, of course)
I enjoyed doing it though.
I won’t do it again.
What, never?
