I had been looking for a full score of one of Faust’s works without success. A correspondent sent me a first edition set of parts for this polka. The orchestration is probably Faust’s own, although sometimes the house arranger at the publisher produced an orchestration from the piano score if a piece proved popular. There are enough individual touches here to suggest it is at least based on Faust’s orchestration.

It was not very carefully produced or proof read. There are numerous errors and inconsistencies. I have fixed some obvious errors but there are some places where it is not possible to work out which of two options is the error. For example, there are examples where two instruments are playing the same figure but there are differences which make no sense. Guesswork, I’m afraid.
