My orchestration from the piano score of this waltz by Johann Strauss II. It was the hit of his debut concert at Dommayer’s in 1844.

It has been recorded many times before, usually for large orchestra in a style more appropriate to the mature Strauss.

Here is my version for an orchestra similar to his 1844 one although I have beefed up the strings a bit as the sound was a bit thin. However, no trombones, cymbals, triangles, harps …
