My orchestration of this polka by August Lanner. Although sometimes called the Sperl gallop, it is a polka in the old style. The gallop was banned in Vienna and the quick polka didn’t appear till about the time of this polka.

It was first performed on the 29th March 1853, in the Sperl, of course.
