My orchestration of this waltz by Ludwig Morelly. The publication date suggests it was written in the 1860’s.

Ludwig Morelly had a successful career as a dance band leader in Vienna for over 30 years – from the 1830’s to the 1860’s. Despite this, his music seems to have disappeared off the face of the Earth. I could not find a single full orchestral score. Even piano scores are relatively hard to find.

This is not the best waltz in the world, but it is by no means terrible. The are poorer waltzes by more famous composers that have stayed in the repertoire.

I was fully expecting to be bored doing this and did it mainly as a historical curiosity. I wasn’t bored at all.
