My orchestration from the Cranz piano score of this polka by Eduard Strauss. It dates from 1886.

It had been on my desk for a couple of years before I worked up the enthusiasm to do it. I don't think it's his best work. It's dynamically very flat (the whole of the polka section, as opposed to the trio, is marked forte; the trio is never less than mf; the only section marked p or less is two bars at the end). It might not entirely be down to Strauss as the publisher could have missed out the dynamic changes in the piano score. They were very cheaply produced but Cranz is usually good.
