My orchestration of a piano score from an album of pieces by various Czech composers published in 1861, all dedicated to Amalie von Obentraut.

Very little of Karel Komzak I’s work has been recorded and even piano scores are quite hard to come by. He has mostly been eclipsed by his son, Karel II but in the early 1860’s in Prague his orchestra was very highly regarded in 1862 forming the basis of the Prague opera house orchestra. Among the players, as well as Karel II, was a violist named Antonin Dvorak.

This is a perfectly respectable mid-century waltz and certainly has its moments. There is no opus number on the score.
