My orchestration of this waltz by Johann Strauss I. It dates from 1847.
I did this originally out of sheer frustration at the raw deal Johann Strauss I gets in recordings generally. Every recording I have heard of this ignores Strauss’s tempo markings in the opening and completely loses the effects.This is one of his best waltzes.
