My orchestration from the Haslinger piano score of this galopp by Mathias Schwarz. Schwarz was a contemporary and competitor of Joseph Lanner and Johann Strauss I. He isn’t in the same class as them, but this piece is cheerful enough and seems to have been popular at the time.

This is number 30 in the collection of “celebrated gallops” Haslinger published in 1830. Oddly enough, number 29 is Strauss’s Wilhelm Tell galopp which I did last week. I got the scores from two completely different sources although they are pages from the same edition.
