This waltz, based on themes from his operetta Jabuka, was first performed on the 14 October 1894 at a concert marking the 50th Anniversary of Strauss’s debut.

There are recordings of this but every one I have heard wallows in sentimentality. The “complete edition” version even quotes Strauss’s instructions to his brother as to how to play the piece in its notes. The conductor ignores them.
