Michael Pamer
Nina, Walzer
Arr. CPE Strauss
00:00 / 06:57
My arrangement from the first edition piano score of this set of waltzes by Michael Pamer. It dates from about 1820, when Pamer was at the height of his career.
These days, Pamer is probably most famous for having Joseph Lanner and Johann Strauss I in his orchestra at different times.
The waltz is of its period. It is resolutely in D major and full of energy. The tunes are more waltz like than the Wilde waltzes from five years previously that I did earlier but there is still no sign of the cross rhythms that characterise the waltzes of Strauss and Lanner a few years afterwards.
A curiosity.
