Benjamin Bilse
Sturm Galopp, Op. 6
Arr. CPE Strauss
00:00 / 02:29
My orchestration from a variety of conflicting sources of this Galopp by Bilse, not by Julien as one of the scores has it.
Bilse is mostly known today for inadvertently creating the Berlin Philharmonic when he quarrelled with members of his orchestra who promptly quit and formed the orchestra that subsequently took the name.
He also loaned Johann Strauss II his orchestra for a series of joint concerts in Paris which (arguably) provided the impetus for the fame of The Blue Danube.
