August Lanner
Vergiss Mein Nicht, Polka, Op. 27
Arr. CPE Strauss

00:00 / 03:14
My orchestration from the Spina piano score of this polka by August Lanner.
It was first performed in May 1854 at the Brauhaus Landstrasse.
It’s a bit of an oddity. All of the changes in tempo are in the score, which begs the question – Did conductors of polkas generally pull the tempo about this much and Lanner just wrote the tempo changes in the score this time, or is it a genuine oddity to make the dancers fall over?
